Our Classical Ballet courses follow the British Theatre Dance Association syllabus, and are designed to grow with your child from toddlers through Primary including all BTDA examination grades.
Studying ballet encourages and nurtures a child’s passion for dance, confidence and an understanding of their body and movement. It is widely recognised as an aid for fitness as well as posture and poise. Its is a disciplined class following a BTDA syllabus. Term by term we will be focused on examinations, medal tests or show work.
Students have the opportunity to develop their technical and performance talents, and they often grow in confidence as well as ability.
Baby ballet classes start from the age of 4 where they learn good toes and naughty toes. By school time they progress through Preparatory and Primary up to Grade 1. Classes for baby ballet are fun and free, but disciplined so as they learn right and wrong. Uniform changes through gradings following the BTDA recommendations.
Our baby ballet classes are taken by BTDA certified teachers with assistance from a number of assistant teachers usually 1 teacher per 3 students. As they develop they are encouraged to learn more syllabus work promoting them through their teens to advanced level.
Ballet students should wear the recommended uniform from the BTDA relevant to their age range as well as ballet socks and shoes.
